Fished with the husband and wife team of Garner and Carla Travelpiece today on an all day charter. Water was stained and 73
degrees. Weather was a calm wind, mostly cloudy, humid and warm day in the mid 70's

Started off with a good topwater bite this am. Carla soon followed with her first river smallie. They got into some good fish today...no monsters. The Biggest at 17-1/2", but we got a pile of 16" inchers today. They ended up with 72 smallies. A good day with some nice people. GO STATE!!! right Carla!! (she is a fellow blue and white alumni and Nittany Lion Lunatic!!!)

Had 2-1/2 day charters today. In the Morning I fished with Tom and Bob Napiorski. Water was 75 stained and a mostly sunny and hot day with a 10mph south wind most of the day...bite was on and off this am but we had a pretty good day. They caught 42 smallies up to 18" with a couple of nice 17'ers in the mix along with a bunch of quality fish.

We saw several eagles today. They were even nice enough to wait by the boat until i meet my other charter!! Thanks guys again!!

The Afternoon charter I fished with Vince and Pete Hatton. They ended up with 38 smallies including Vince's biggest smallie to date a fat hefty 18-1/4" pig. Pete said he never did so well on the river!!
When i went to start the truck, I evidently left the dome light or headlights on as my battery was dead!!! Thanks to vince for getting me going again and waiting while my battery charged.

All in All a good day on the river!

Fished with my Son, Tim Fehr and his son Josh today from about 7:00 am till Noon. Didnt really keep count today but we had over 50 fish.

The first bite of the am i would have liked to have had a camera on. It was a foggy start and as we pulled up to start fishing i tied on a Topwater bait. The second cast this 17" smallie comes leaping straight out into the air like one of those great white sharks flying 6' out of the water chasing seals....although he only came out of the air 2'....WHAT A SITE!.

We had a good quality day as most of the fish were over 14" today. Most came on topwater and Jigs.

Had an evening charter with Mike Rickels, his oldest son Andrew and his brother Steve. Water was dark stained and 78 degrees.

Andrew gave us a lesson on how to fish tubes this evening. Once he learned you have to let them sit, the fish started piling up! They caught 35 Smallies tonight up to 17". Most of them came on Hawghead mudpie and mudpie purple tubes. A couple on crankbaits and a couple on Spinnerbaits. It was fun to watch Andrew and hear him yelling "fish on!"

Fished with Eric Strenfel and his uncle Dave today on an all day charter. Weather was on and off clouds, hot when the sun was out and the water chocolate milk shake brown and 76 degrees.

They fished under some tough conditions today and they did rather well boating a total of 38 smallies. The numbers were down due to the dirty water but the quality was sure there today. We boated 2 smallies better than 18" and bunch of really fat quality fish in the 15-17" range. As a matter of fact, few of the bass we caught today where small as is usually the case when the water gets muddy like it was.

Dave had a run in with a rather Large musky in the 45-50" range. As he was talking i noticed a huge wake behind his bait and then the big ole tail fin..I YELLED MUSKY!!!! as the musky came up and grabbed his bait almost at the boat, he had it for like 4 seconds, it gave a bunch of head shakes and it was gone!!! I really would have liked to put the tape to that fish as it was a SLAMMER!.

Had a nice visit with new local WCO today and even gave a guy a ride back to his ramp, that was without life jackets. (the wco told him to get immediately off the water). It was a fun day and we saw a bunch of eagles today. If anybody needs a good taxidermist for animal mounts Eric is the guy!! you can call him at 570-256-3778

Had an evening charter with Mike Rickels his 6 year old son peter and Mike's friend Ted. The river came up 3 feet over night and was basically a chocolate milkshake @ 74 degrees.

Peter caught his first river smallie and kept Mike and Ted busy with the friendly competitive fish count. Mike and Ted both caught some nice smallies both had 17" inch fish. Ted even latched into a pretty big mr toothy of some sort as there was a big boil ....some drag music then "plink"...lure gone!

They caught 22 smallies tonight mostly on Spinnerbaits and a couple on tubes. An enjoyable evening on the water...They also got to experience a susquehanna special event as we had a white fly hatch tonight! Literally MILLIONS of them coming off the water and all headed UP RIVER!

Fished with George Barkanic and his son Matt today on an all day charter. It was HOT today in the 90's, the water clear and and 79 degrees. The clarity of the water allowed us to fish some different baits today.

The water is really low now...a couple of inches from being as low as it was last year. The river has cleared up amazingly over the past week. We started throwing top water baits this am and were into a some good fish. Pretty much, all baits worked today.

They had a pretty good numbers day with 84 fish. The biggest going 17-1/2" with a bunch in the 16-17" range. Although George had the #'s all day Matt let his father know all day he had the better fish...it was great fun day with a good father and son Team. George also had a line stretcher of a catfish on and up to the boat 2 before the hook pulled out...it was in the 26-29" range...foul hooked in the pec fin.

Had a full day charter with Jeff Hill and his son in law Cory. Weather was off and on clouds, warm and humid. Water was 79 degrees and stained.

Fish were a bit deeper today..dont know if it was the impending cold front coming thru this evening. We had a pretty good #'s day. They ended up with 104 fish including 5 walleye and 2 rock bass. Most of the larger fish came earlier and later in the day with several in the 16-17" range. Had one rather large walleye that was b/n 24-27" get in the net and somehow he bounced himself out?

Anyway it was a good day with lots of action. I was sad to see the launch which was clean yesterday completely trashed today. Looked like a bunch of people fishing for catfish decided to make the launch there own personal dump. It took us about 15 minutes at the end of the day and we had one heck of a pile of garbage when we where done. My clients helped me pick it up and the help and consideration were greatly appreciated.

Fished with Tom Napiorski and his friend Pete today on a 1/2 day charter. It was HOT and darn humid today with a water temp of 77 and the river was dark stained. We started out a bit to late for the topwater bite this am but we quickly got into the fish. The bite was sporadic today...It would turn on then shut off. They finished with 47 smallies today and i did catch one walleye on a crankbait.
Tom got that big fish of the day at 18".

Hawghead mudpie tubes, spinnner baits and crankbaits worked today.
